Ewan & Courtney, Ireland, 2009

Overall, this photograph represents the best day of that summer, perhaps one of my best days thus far. While planning this trip back at home, we knew that we definitely wanted to sleep outside at least once. Since Ewan was a kayaker, it just so happens that he had his tent with him at all times. Fate? I think so! From the campgrounds we stayed at in Doolin we could see the Aran Islands. That night we walked down that long road lined with piled-up stone fences and arrived at Gus O'Connor's Pub where we saw the greatest traditional Irish music. Walking back towards the campgrounds in the dead of night, two thirds of us drunk, Ewan teaching us how to do a proper jig, pouring rain, was probably the best moment of the entire trip. Ironic how the only night it really rained, we slept outside.
Taken on my Nikon FM10.
